To effectively manage disaster, the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority in collaboration with Home Guards & Civil Defence and SDRF with the support from National Disaster Management Authority is organizing training on Emergency Operation and Search & Rescue for AAPDA-MITRA ‘Friends-in-Disaster’ and Community first Responder. The AAPDA-MITRA training is an in-house training for 12 days at Central Training Institute (CTI) of Home Guards & Civil Defence and SDRF, Dimapur. The training aims to empower the community volunteer with skills they would need to respond to their community’s immediate needs in the aftermath of disaster thereby enabling them to undertake basic relief and rescue and rescue tasks during emergency situations.

The training commenced on the 15th of May, 2022 and will conclude on the 16th of August, 2022. Till date volunteers from Kiphire, Phek, Longleng and Peren have completed their trainings.
