On June 18, 2023, the Kohima Science College in Jotsoma hosted a simulated drill exercise on an earthquake by the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), Home Department, and District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Kohima. The disaster management team at Kohima Science College in Jotsoma started the mock drill. Assistant Manager (Training & Education) Khrolou Koza Lohe gave a PPT presentation on the value of disaster management structures during the briefing, and District Project Associate Victor Kevilhouthie Yhome described how to run a mock drill. Fire & Emergency Services, Home Guards, Civil Defence, and SDRF conducted search and rescue operations while also demonstrating the value of fire safety during the simulated practise. The observers for the mock drill were Thejangulie Zao, Assistant Manager (Projects & Resources) NSDMA, representatives from Assam Rifles and Jotsoma Youth Organization.
